The Redwoods - a Must Vacation
The Redwoods in California. What a gorgeous area to visit. My wife is from Vacaville, California, so we visit the west coast frequently. The Redwoods is a vacation we have taken on a couple occasions and and have never been disappointed. Looking up at the height of these trees will blow your mind. The famous drive-through giant sequoia in the Mariposa Grove of Yosemite National Park fell in 1969 under heavy snow. Today there are three coast redwood drive-through trees along Highway 101 in northern California. All are on private property and charge admission. The drive through the area is awesome. Plan a hike through the trees. If you have never seen redwoods before, you will be awestruck. Trees over 60 m (200 feet) are common, and many are over 90 m (300 feet). The Redwoods actually extend into Oregon, but the California area is the area I am most familiar with and probably the most popular tourist area.
