A Niagara Falls Vacation is Different From Any Vacation You Will Ever Take
A Niagara Falls vacation is well known as a popular vacation spots for honeymooners, but I guarantee your family will love this breathtaking vacation. I've been there 5 or 6 times and, as far as I'm concerned, the Canadian side is the best. There is a lot to do there but I honestly believe the Horseshoe Falls is the best part of Niagara Falls. This is shown in the picture above. The falls face directly toward the Canadian shore, so the most complete views of Niagara Falls are available from the Canadian shoreline. The prices seem cheaper there, particularly if you stay on Clifton Hill. It can be a tough walk on that hill but it is very busy and a carnival like atmosphere. I don't recommend it if someone is in a wheelchair, but other than that, very cost effective. My daughter really enjoyed it and we stayed at a motel where we could easily walk to the casino, as well as the other sites.
You have to see the falls during both the daylight and the evening hours. From the Canadian side, floodlights illuminate both sides of the Falls for several hours after dark (until midnight). Seeing it lit up is something you won't forget. Make sure to walk behind the falls as well. It's very nice scenery there and sometimes overlooked. On September 27,1993 John "David" Monday (or Munday) became the first person to survive going over the falls twice and we happened to be there at that time, although we didn't see the event. It was the conversation of the week. The Maid of the Mist boat cruise is outstanding. You get so close to the Falls, you swear you are going under. They provide you with a raincoat and I'm telling you, take the trip. Then there is the Journey Behind the Falls, There are a series of tunnels bringing you right under Niagara Falls and you can experience the roaring sound of the water and, most likely, get a little wet. There are two casinos on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls, the Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara. We was at Casino Niagara, when we took my daughter for her 18th birthday. It's not as great as Tahoe or Reno, but it was pretty nice. One other attraction a lot of people miss. Right below the bridge is a ride where you climb in a capsule and get a feel as to what it would be like to ride over the falls. A Niagara Falls vacation is something you will never regret taking.
