Newport Aquarium - Kentucky

The Newport Aquarium in Newport, Kentucky, is a vacation spot that is well worth spending time at.

The aquarium is one of the biggest and most visited in the Midwest and there is lots to see here. Your kids will jump for joy when they see the crocodiles and the frogs. As you walk in the croc area, there is a window in the floor and you can look down and see them under you.

There is a large variety of frogs for viewing.

Walk into the bird cage where live birds are flying about. Pick up some nectar and get ready to snap some pictures as the birds land on your kids and lap up the drink.

Our grandson laughed so hard in the bird cage, that by itself made the trip worthwhile.

Later though, he let out a holler when he saw a Hammerhead Shark. That was the main attraction he was waiting for. The large shark tank, with huge turtles, plenty of stingrays, and a combination of a shark and stingray - I guess the only one around, is delightful.

The touch tank ends the tour. Your kids will love this so plan on being there for awhile, as they get to reach down and touch sharks.

Throughout the aquarium area, there are plenty of staff on hand so you can freely ask any questions about pretty much anything.

The Newport Aquarium is located in Newport, Kentucky and there is a lot of beautiful scenery in the area. It is easy to get to and I highly recommend it.
