Mount Rushmore - South Dakota's Sight Seeing Paradise!
Mount Rushmore might be one of the premier vacation spots. Who has not heard of the 4 presidents carved into a mountain? This is a spectacular sight that I think everyone should see. Here is a brochure on Mount Rushmore that will help you plan your trip. Our South Dakota vacation, which I went on with my family when I was in high school, was one of my favorites. I wasn't a big sight seer back then though, and would love to go back again and really enjoy the sights. Mount Rushmore, shown above, is a very popular tourist attraction however, don't forget the rest of the Black Hills area and the Badlands. You never want to take a vacation here without seeing these attractions as they are two of the most dramatic, mysterious and legend-impacted tracts of land in the US. What a historical area. Custer and Crazy Horse battled in South Dakota for supremacy over the plains, while Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane were other notables of the once-notorious Gold Rush town of Deadwood.
